ABOUT JILL

Jill Ann Storti
Greer, South Carolina

Jill Ann Storti has an education in business, built a career in the corporate world, but found that her true calling was to be a writer and mother.  Most importantly, she is dedicated to make this book a platform on which she can bring awareness about the mission of the March of Dimes and how vital it’s become for parents to gain knowledge that premature births can be prevented.

She has had great success with her self-published children’s book, Keiko the Koala.
She has done author visits at elementary schools, where children love the book so much that orders from parents for the book and the stuffed animal “Keiko” came pouring in.

She has had successful book signings from the east coast to the west coast.

On Amazon.com “Keiko the Koala” has nine 5 star customer reviews.

In 2011, Keiko the Koala was made into an audio book by Brook Forest Voices and highlighted by Publishers Weekly blog on June 27th, 2012.

On September 30th, 2012, Brook Forest Voices highlighted her children’s book at the Hollywood Book Fair.

Most recently, in May, 2013, the audio version of Jill’s book “Keiko the Koala” was nominated by the Colorado’s Independent Publisher’s Association (CIPA) EVVY awards in the best audio book and best children’s book categories. On May 18th, 2013 “Keiko the Koala” won 2nd place at the CIPA Educational Literacy Foundation audiobook category and won 3rd place in the children’s book category.

Jill is now working on her latest book “JOSEPH ,  MIRACLE   BABY… THROUGH TRAUMA and TEARS to TRIUMPH".  This is my personal story of a rough beginning and a miraculous ending. It’s been thirteen years that I’ve been happily married to Stan.  We lived a life filled with passion, romance and spontaneity. We were both dedicated to our careers. A once in a lifetime career opportunity presented itself to Stan, in an unlikely location in the South. Together, we decided to begin a new chapter in our lives. We spent two years getting settled and making a home in Greenville, SC.  Not long after we were established in Greenville, SC, we made a life changing decision to start a family.  Our unique experience of being prepared to deliver our premature baby two times, before the actual delivery of our son, Joseph is painful and traumatic.  Our son was a miracle baby, delivered 10
1/2 weeks early, breathing on his own.

Over the last six years, Jill has reached out to work with some of the best writers and editors in the industry.

Most recently, she has had the fortunate opportunity to be mentored by G.H.Lightheart, who has spent much of his career in the industry of writing books and screenplays for hollywood, acting, editing and teaching. She works three days a week with him on the writing and editing of her current manuscript.

She also has the privilege to be mentored by her cousin, Kenny Bingham, who has a successful career as a published author, professor, play writer, director and producer.

As a mother of a child born 10½ weeks premature, Jill has immersed herself in issues related to child development. Everything from writing about her experience, sharing it with others, and offering emotional support to famlies experiencing similar situations.

Jill and her husband, Stan, are active supporters of the March of Dimes since the premature birth of their son in 2007. Jill is proud to volunteer for the Annual March of Dimes Signature Chefs Event held in Greenville, South Carolina. Her family has been recognized by the March of Dimes as an Ambassador Family, which gave her the opportunity to share her story. Today, Jill continues to volunteer for the March of Dimes to help further her mission of reducing the incidence of premature child births and promoting healthy babies.
